This week, we have poems that move us from summer to autumn by two talented Davids--Harrity and Landrum. Find out more about them here. We also talk about art and the label "artist" with Marvin Vargas at the Orlando Museum of Art's 1st Thursday event. Marvin was exhibiting two pieces, including one inspired by a poem by our own Amy Watkins.

If you are a poet, consider submitting to Red Lion Square. We would love to read or hear your work. Find out how to submit here.

Perfect poems to usher us into a contemplative fall season.

Excellent poems! Enjoyed this week. Listened 5 or 6 times. The after party is an excellent micro-cosm of synergy between the creating art and the art biz.

Oh, my. How sensitive and liminal are David Harrity's poems! Breathtakingly beautiful imagery, meditations, turns, and endings. Ushering in a new phase of life as well as of season. Read aloud extremely well by Amy. "Before" becomes so pregnant with meaning...

I love Mr. Landrum's approach to poetry, as articulated on his website Lucid Rhythms. Read his "Editor's Guidelines" on the Submissions page. An editor who knows what is worthy, and why! Bravo!

Regarding the after party --
AMY: YOU ARE AN ARTIST!

Amy, so glad your poems are inspiring pieces of visual art down in Orlando. Keep in mind that I still have that piece of ceramic art that was inspired by your poem, and that was displayed in the art gallery in New York State. I purchased it so that someday I could give it to you. Someday, I will give it to you!

Great that there was an artwork inspired by Alice story, and that your Alice saw it!

Therese, that poem in the gallery is still probably my favorite presentation of one of my poems.
