We're back! We took the week off last week while Amy was on vacation and Jae was working way too hard. Did you miss us? We missed you.

This week, we bring you a little international flavor with poems by A-Gonzaga, Jill Kelly Koren and JR Pearson, plus, in the after party, a song from Aaron Roche's soon-to-be-released album "Plainspeak." You can preorder the album here. Thanks to John Babshaw for being our guest reader.

Remember to check out all our contributors on the People page, find us on Facebook and subscribe to the podcast by clicking the RSS button to your right or searching for Red Lion Square poetry in the iTunes Store.

Update: I made a mistake reading A-Gonzaga's bio and said he was Norwegian-born. I should have said he is "Nigerian-born, Nordic-educated." I'm sure either country would be happy to claim him. :)

Great episode! I love the second reading by Jill Kelly Koren. Great sound effects/music! Also John does a great job reading! Get more of him on the show.

Wow! John did a really great job. I want more! The second reading reminded me of the movie Punch Drunk Love, in a good way. Fantastic job!

"Poetry that Travels" -- I like your new description! Yes, these poems took me on entrancing trips to Nordic lands, Paris, and the realm of chimpanzee lightning...

I wonder just how young Jill's "little brother" is? He's talented in music, no matter what his age.

I don't know how old Jill's "little brother" is, but I love the recording he helped her make! She sent us a "plain" version too, but this one was too fun to pass up.

Fantastic, Amy! And your pronunciations were simply breathtaking!

Thank you! I was really worried about that, especially that I would mispronounce your name. Thanks for letting us use your poem; I think it fits in with Jill's and JR's poems perfectly.

Agreed, John does a fabulous job reading. Great episode, and what surprisingly complex music from Aaron. (A big change from a guy and a guitar, love it!)

Great poems! favorites:

Gonzaga's "He's determined to pay for her coffee without delay," the image of the geranium and the repetition of the last line "except in spring" by Koren, and
the fast-paced abstraction of
"touch every vertebrae until I ascend in an eye-wink pulse of a thought" by Pearson. A good mix, Amy et. al.!

P.S. This is the first time (episode) I've wanted the text in front of me..when the audio wasn't enough.

Maybe we would always request a "little brother" version of the readings?

We are on a roll with it--we had Jill's little brother in this episode and my little brother in the episode 8's after party. Anyone else have a "little" bro they want to volunteer?
