In this week's episode, Sandra Evans Falconer and Aimee Mackovic bring us poems about healing. Of course, there's more than one kind. You can order Sandra's book about her battle with breast cancer directly from the author. For her contact info, email amy@redlionsq.com.

In the after party, Alex Copeland, Michel Blemur and Marvin Vargas talk about realism in film making. Lizzy Hovanetz of WPRK's The F-Bomb chimes in briefly.

oh Jeez ! Did I say "like" enough? Please someone tell me I don't always talk like that. Yikes!

Actually, I thought you all had a lot of interesting things to say. Michel seems to be asking, "Why isn't reality compelling enough on its own?" I think that's a fascinating question, because it isn't quite enough on its own. That's why we tell stories and write poems and make paintings and even take photographs or film ourselves doing ordinary things. We make sense of the world by making it (as Neil Gaiman would say) "story shaped," which the real world isn't.

Anyway, it's an interesting conversation. I went to bed too early that night. :)

Four very poignant, image-laden poems! Sandra, whether or not you can sew, you can put together a poem quite beautifully. Aimee, you are famous now to Red Lion Square! No forgery in your fine work. And Amy and Alex -- velvet voices I could listen to for hours.

I so enjoyed this episode!

(Sandra, I think you were graduated the same semester I entered our MFA program. I remember you!)

"velvet voices"--we should put that on our business cards! :)
